Originally from Bemus Point, New York, Mrs. Amy Heuer attended Salem-Teikyo University in Salem, West Virginia. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree in Physical Education and Health, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine. She is a member and past president of the North Dakota Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and is now their current Co-Executive Director. Mrs. Heuer is the Bismarck Tobacco-Free Coalition Past-President, and is a past board member of Central District Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. She has been a featured presenter at numerous NDAHPERD conferences and state conferences, and has testified in front of the State Education Committee in support of PE and Health initiatives. She has even visited Washington D.C. and met with Senators Dorgan and Conrad, as well as Rep. Pomeroy, to seek support for Physical Education and American Heart Association initiatives. Mrs. Heuer has spent a great deal of time expanding her education and training. Additional training includes: • AAHPERD Leadership Development Conference • CDAAHPERD Leadership Development Conference • National Archery in Schools Program Basic Archery Instructor endorsement • SPARK PE 3-6 Trainer • Certified Physical Best Health-Fitness Specialist • Polar Technology Specialist Currently Mrs. Heuer teaches K-8 Physical Education, 6th and 7th grade computer class, 7th and 8th grade Personal Fitness, 7th and 8th grade CPR/First Aid, and serves as the staff computer technician. St. Mary's Grade School is fortunate to have had Mrs. Heuer here for 13 years.
